I visited Steamtown a few years ago and got to see the 4012 Big Boy. Learning about the largest steam locomotives ever built was fascinating. 1.2M pounds of power. So imagine my excitement when I learn that there's still a Big Boy that is functioning as a heritage unit.
Now imagine my disappointment when I learn that it hasn't been to New York since it was built. Now imagine my excitement when I find out it's on a USA 250th tour and will be headed through western New York!
