Thanks to the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, Indiana has the Florida Tropical House. Moved to Beverly Shores after the fair wrapped up, the pink perfection is just one of the homes that makes up the Century of Progress architectural district.
I think it's awesome that it is a private residence! I wanted to get closer to take photos, but didn't want to trespass.
There are four other buildings you can see from the road including a log cabin. Definitely worth checking out.
Lake View Beach is just east and provided a beautiful sunset and water access.
You'll find it just west of Michigan City.
