Pumpkin Fun

2004

The latest pumpkin carving is an extension of the M&M theme from the last few years. I wanted to try my hand at shading, and this was a good first project for me. Allow me to show you some of the tools of the trade:

  1. Wide wood working tool rounded blade
  2. Flat wide cutting tool
  3. Detail saw
  4. Edge marker to assist in tracing the design onto the pumpkin
  5. Large duty saw
  6. Flat small cutting tool
  7. Small rounded blade woodworking tool
  8. Pumpkin finger drill (for starting cuttout sections, or eyes!)

All of this yields the finished product. Here you go!

I figured, what the hell. Let's put Anna Kournikova on a pumpkin. She'll probably look good backlit!

I printed out a pic and used it as a guide. Took a little bit of thought though, and some fine detail work with a mini screwdriver. People have been telling me that I have too much free time. It's not that. It's that my budgeting of time is a little fucked up!
